Blackest Black vs Pinkest Pink
Anish Kapoor is one of the most celebrated artists of our time. His sculptures are instantly recognizable, and his public art installations are some of the most iconic in the world.
Stuart Semple is a British artist best known for his vibrant, large-scale paintings.
The two artists have been engaged in a very public feud for the past few years. It all started when Kapoor was granted exclusive rights to use a new type of black paint. Semple, who is known for his bright colors, was not happy about this. He felt that Kapoor was hoarding the paint and preventing other artists from using it. The feud escalated when Semple created a new color that he dubbed “the world‘s pinkest pink.” Kapoor responded by buying the entire stock of the paint, preventing Semple from selling it to anyone else.
The two artists have been exchanging barbs ever since. Most recently, Semple created anĀ “anti–Kapoor“ paint that can‘t be used by anyone who has ever bought anything from Kapoor‘s company. It‘s hard to say who is winning this feud. But one thing is for sure: it‘s providing entertainment for art lovers all over the world.
